ebb3, SimpsonHaugh, and ControlUp Shortlisted for MSP Project of the Year at the Technology Reseller Awards

We’re excited to announce that ebb3, in partnership with SimpsonHaugh, and ControlUp, has been shortlisted for MSP Project of the Year at the Technology Reseller Awards. This recognition highlights the incredible results of our work together on SimpsonHaugh’s VDI platform.

As a leading architecture practice, SimpsonHaugh relies on graphics-intensive applications such as AutoCAD and Revit to bring their designs to life. Previously, this work was only possible on high-powered physical workstations, which limited flexibility and made remote working difficult.

This led SimpsonHaugh to explore VDI solutions, bringing them to ebb3.

ebb3 designed and implemented a hybrid VDI platform that integrates both virtual and physical machines, tailored specifically to meet SimpsonHaugh’s demanding performance requirements. The solution included Citrix HDX technology, ensuring a seamless, office-like experience for remote users.

Following implementation, ebb3 began managing the platform alongside SimpsonHaugh’s in-house IT team, providing expert support.

As part of our continued management of the environment, ebb3 recommended the use of ControlUp’s DEX platform. ControlUp has played a critical role in enhancing visibility and performance through real-time monitoring, enabling proactive troubleshooting and continuous improvement of the user experience.

Here is what the VDI implementation has resulted in so far:

• Potentially £1.79 million lost earnings saved: VDI has resulted in a huge reduction in IT downtime equating to approximately 17% of annual turnover.

  
  

• Annual overall IT investment maintained through the VDI implementation: No significant spikes in hardware costs, with VDI giving certainty that systems are guaranteed to work.

• Huge productivity gains for staff: VDI enables employees who rely on specialised applications to work from home with the same user experience as if they were in the office.
